Once your site is complete and ready to show off, you can begin the publishing process. This will put the entire site live on your public URL so, although you can continue to make any changes to your site, ensure you are satisfied with the design before you officially publish.
Note: publishing was previously done in the site editor but is now done in the dashboard.
Open your dashboard and select Projects.
Locate the project you’d like to publish and enter the management page by clicking on the project thumbnail image or project menu > “Manage Project”.
On the Project page, click the Publish button.
Select a hosting payment plan and complete the checkout process.
Note: all hosting plans are per site. If you are interested in bulk pricing, send us a note – firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you intend to have a store on your site, choose an appropriate Ecommerce plan. If you would like to add Ecommerce to an existing standard (non-Ecommerce) plan, you can switch to Ecommerce by selecting “Change Plan” in the dashboard.
A default domain (e.g. firstsite.sitemodify.com) will be created, but you can click “Change site address.”
Here you can select either the default domain or a custom domain. A custom domain allows you to use a domain you already own; the setup process only needs to be done once and differs between hosting providers. Read our custom domain doc for more information.
You can check the status of your site and change the domain at any time by clicking on the info button at the top of your editor and clicking “Site Info.”
